Take a journey through Longview Lake and Park while enjoying festive lights and displays. With more than 300,000 lights and 175 animated displays, Christmas in the Park is sure to ignite your yuletide spirit. Admission is free and donations benefit 35 area charities. Jackson County has collected more than $1 million for charity since the first Christmas in the Park in 1987.

Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl

December 9-10
7 p.m. – 2 a.m.
Tickets: $20

Throw on an ugly sweater and join a group of friends for a merry jaunt among 5 of Kansas City’s bars.

Tickets include:
-Bracelets to get into every bar free.
-Amazing drink/Food Specials to all participating bars.
-Detail map of every bar and specials on the crawl.

Ticket proceeds will go to a local animal shelter.

Crown Center Holiday Choirs

Let local vocalists bring you holiday cheer this weekend. High school choirs from throughout the metro share their talents at Crown Center every holiday season. Visit the Crown Center website for the official schedule.

Winter Wonderland at the Kansas City Zoo

December 10-11
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Tickets included with Zoo admission

Walk through a wintery wonderland as the Kansas City Zoo celebrates the holiday season! Exhibits will transform for the icy theme;  Polar Bear Passage will become the North Pole while Helzberg Penguin Plaza turns into the South Pole. Penguins will march outside their enclosures and swim with Santa. The lion pride will receive a Christmas tree, complete with lion-appropriate ornaments and gifts. Berlin the polar bear will get her own birthday cake.

 The Sixth Annual Holiday Swing at Union Station

December 11
10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
FREE TO ATTEND

Explore holiday-themed, handcrafted wares from more than 100 vendors at historic Union Station in downtown Kansas City. Entering its sixth year, the Swing has been named one of the Best Holiday Craft Fairs in The USA

Santa Sightings in Kansas City

Crown Center: Santa will reside in Gingerbread Station through Christmas Eve! He will be available for pictures during shopping hours. Admission is free.

Bass Pro Shops: Santa will be available for free visits and photos 10 – 8 Monday through Saturday and 10 -5 Sunday at both the Independence and Olathe locations. Crafts an activities are available for kids during the wait!

Zona Rosa:  Santa Claus will listen to children’s Christmas wishes every day starting Dec. 3 through December 24th. A variety of photo packages will be available. 

Country Club Plaza: Santa will be at the Russell Stover pop up shop at 306 W 47th Street Saturdays through December 17. Visits are free! Donations are encouraged. 100 percent of donations will be given equally to three charities — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, and Jackson County CASA.
